The soccer nets all over England have taken a beating through the years from players like David Beckham, bending shots into their fabric.Kicking nets all over the NFL have been abused by Odell Beckham Jr. -- hitting, kicking them and even proposing to one. David is an international soccer star who got his start in London, England. Odell Jr. hopes to bend it like his namesake as his team, the New York Giants, crosses the Atlantic to face the Los Angeles Rams, designated the home team.Hopefully, there is enough column space in the United Kingdom tabloids for both Beckhams and their antics. The Rams havent been back in Los Angeles all week but will still be playing a home game this Sunday against the Giants. The game will take place in London, England, and is one of the home games the Rams sacrificed in Los Angeles to expand their brand globally. This is the second of three NFL games that will be played in the United Kingdom in 2016, but the first time in Twickenham Stadium, home of the English rugby team. Both teams enter the matchup 3-3 but with different tastes in their mouths as they travel overseas. The Rams are coming off an embarrassing defensive performance against the Detroit Lions in their 31-28 loss. This once-vaunted defense gave up 10 straight fourth-quarter points after the surprisingly potent offense had spotted them a seven-point lead. The Giants head to England on Thursday riding high on the backs of one of the best offensive performances in 2016 by quarterback Eli Manning and Beckham Jr.Their offensive production led to a 27-23 come-from-behind win over the Baltimore Ravens. In that game, Manning threw for 403 yards and three touchdowns. Beckham Jr. scored two of those touchdowns, including the -winning 66-yarder while pulling in 222 yards receiving, a career high. But his aforementioned antics have drawn the ire of coach Ben McAdoo.Beckham Jr. drew a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty after the winning touchdown grab when he ripped off his helmet in celebration. That penalty didnt end up hurting the Giants, but McAdoo chided his fiery receiver after Beckham compounded his behavior by staging a mock marriage proposal to the kicking net, the same one Beckham slammed two weeks before. He (Beckham) came up to me right after, we had a discussion. We cant have (penalties), McAdoo said. He knows that and he wanted to fire up our kick coverage team and defense. He knows we cant have it. We need to keep our focus on the ballgame.Manning, Beckham Jr. and the entire Giants offense will be going up against an up-and-down Rams defense that brought their own antics to the end of the game against the Lions. While the Lions were in victory formation, one in which the quarterback simply takes the snap and kneels down, the Rams defensive line fired off the football. This brought negative national attention to the team but had coach Jeff Fisher passing the buck after the game. This approach did not come from the sideline; it was not a call, it was not something that we practiced or that we preached, he said. I think it was a byproduct of frustration. If the games over, the games over, pay respect to your opponent. You guys (the media and fans) dont realize all the stuff that goes on inside, up front between the offensive linemen and the defensive linemen. Well address it and its unlikely that itll happen again. The Rams defense did not get any pressure on Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, and the secondary allowed wide receiver Golden Tate to gain 165 yards. The Los Angeles defensive front could be without Robert Quinn and Michael Brockers against the Giants. The secondary has injuries to cornerbacks Lamarcus Joyner and Trumaine Johnson. That could make for a long day matched up against the Giants high-powered offense. The Rams passing attack was incredible against the Lions, and quarterback Case Keenum had a career day. Keenum threw for 321 yards and two touchdowns, and at one point he completed 19 straight passes. Wide receiver Kenny Britt accounted for seven catches for 136 yards and both of Keenums scores. The Rams need to keep that formula going against a Giants passing defense that is ranked 22nd in the NFL and gives up an average of 266.8 yards per game. The Intel Extreme Masters Gyeonggi 2016 League of Legends grand finals in Gyeonggi, South Korea, featured two South Korean teams: recent World Championship finalist Samsung Galaxy and recent League Champions Korea promotee Kongdoo Monster. At stake were a $50,000 grand prize and a ticket to the IEM League of Legends championship in Katowice, Poland, in March. In the end, the experienced Samsung dispatched Kongdoo Monster 3-1 in dominating fashion behind Lee Crown Min-ho and Kang Ambition Chan-yongs efforts.Things started on a negative note for Samsung Galaxy in the first game as Son Punch Min-hyuks Elise counter-ganked Ambitions Reksai in the middle lane at the 8:55 mark, yielding a 2-0 advantage for Kongdoo Monster. Samsung bode their time through roaming forays from Crown (on Orianna) and took a commanding lead, but nearly squandered it at the 25-minute mark as KDM ambushed three of their players. However, the team capitalized on KDMs overextension following a Baron Nashor takedown shortly after, controlled the map, claimed Barons head at 33:30 and swiftly destroyed the enemy nexus after 35 minutes, 58 seconds of play.Samsung wasted no time to assert dominance in the second game of the series, as Ambition selected KhaZix in the jungle and preyed upon KDMs players across the map. The Ambition show started at the seven-minute mark as he (on KhaZix) invaded and slew Reksai at KDMs red buff. The jungler secured the victory through ganks in the mid lane (12:10), a 2-for-0 trade in the bottom lane that also yielded a turret (16:25) and a foray up top that also resulted in a tower takedown (18:27). KDM prolonged the game until SSGs Baron Nashor takedown at the 27-minute mark, and as Ambitions KhaZix hit critical mass, ending the game at the 29-minute mark with a 5/3/12 Kill/Death/Assist score (for a 70.88 percent kill participation ratio). The score was 2-0 for Samsung.Noting the events of the previous game, Kongdoo Monster secured KhaZix for themselves and unleashed Zyra, a previously banned champion, onto the rift. KDMs chances at avoiding a sweep seemed dire early on, as Samsungs Lee CuVee Seong-jins Kennen secured two solo kills in the top lane, but the team secured advantages at the 14-minute mark wwith plays across the map resulting in a 4-for-2 trade.ddddddddddddSamsung traded blows with KDM until they let Kongdoo Monster slay Baron Nashor uncontested (26:14) then committed a critical mistake at the 30-minute mark, sending Crowns Orianna on a split-pushing spree in the top lane -- a matter that left them vulnerable in the bottom lane and resulted in a 5-for-1 for their opponents. KDM slowly ground down Samsungs structures, destroying the bottom lane and mid lane inhibitors, then claiming SSGs nexus at the 41:22 mark. KDM had put one on the board to counter Samsungs two wins. The commentators had started discussing the potential of a reverse-sweep for Kongdoo Monster before the fourth games pick/ban phase had started, but Lee Sins availability (and subsequent first pick by Samsungs Ambition) ended such talks abruptly. All hell broke loose for KDM starting at the 11th minute when they conceded three kills to one in the bottom lane, and it only worsened from there.Samsung hurriedly secured a 5,000 gold lead at the 13:40 mark, as they annihilated KDMs bottom lane, then asserted presence in their opponents blue-buff side. The team secured the game for good on the 23-minute mark, when their pressure in the mid lane and the top lane helped them secure four kills and the Baron, using its buff to siege KDMs base and end the game 3-1 in 26 minutes.Performance HighlightsSamsung vs. Kongdoo Monster featured a duel of two junglers: Reksai and KhaZix. KhaZixs mobility, dueling power and high damage output helped the junglers who summoned him reach an overall 6.6 KDA ratio against Reksai (to her 1.0 KDAR).Samsungs tunnel vision on Kongdoo Monsters bottom lane in game three was such that they performed five ganks in 15 minutes in the vicinity. SSGs bottom lane held a 3/4/17 collective KDA, to KDMs 1/9/4.In the semifinals match on Saturday, Kongdoo Monster had Kim GuGer Do-yeop capitalize on Immortals tunnel vision. However, they were unable to replicate the feat against the swifter Samsung Galaxy in three of the four games played. GuGer ended with a 0/15/19 KDA over four games. ' ' '
