DEERFIELD, Ill. -- It started with the flu, and turned into a hospital stay. There were terrible headaches and weakness. Just walking was a chore. All at the worst time for Luol Deng and the Chicago Bulls. The All-Star forward made an appearance at Chicagos practice facility on Thursday, but it was clear from his drawn appearance and measured tone that he might not be able to make it back in time to play in the Bulls post-season series against the Miami Heat. "I dont know. I want to play, but I dont know what I can do," Deng said. "I just, I havent done anything." Deng joined his teammates for the film session covering Wednesday nights 115-78 loss that evened the series heading into Game 3 in Chicago on Friday night. He also got on the court and took a few jumpers, but that was all he could handle. "Still day to day. Hes feeling a little bit better," coach Tom Thibodeau said. "Well see tomorrow." While Chicago was taking stock of all its injuries -- Kirk Hinrich had a second MRI on his injured left calf, and Derrick Rose was the "same," according to Thibodeau -- Miami was bracing for the first game of the series at the United Center. Its the Heats first trip to Chicago since a 101-97 loss on March 27 snapped their 27-game winning streak. "We know that they call it the Madhouse on Madison for a reason," Miami guard Dwyane Wade said. "The fans are very loud. At the end of the day, once that settles down, its the game of basketball and you have to execute your game plan. Its going to be the little things that wins games for your team." The Heat did everything right in Game 2, running away from the Bulls after a surprising 93-86 loss in the series opener on Monday night. A 62-20 run was more than enough to wipe away the residue from Miamis first playoff loss, and MVP LeBron James had only three points in the tidal wave -- a scary statistic for Chicago, and theres more. The Game 2 blowout was the 41st time that an NBA team won a playoff game by 35 or more points. In the previous 40 occasions, the team on top of the blowout went on to win the series 36 times. Its a good omen for Miami, but James knows firsthand how it can turn around in a hurry. He was playing for Cleveland when the Cavaliers lost 108-72 to Washington in a 2008 playoff game and went on to win the series. "Its just one game," he said. "Even though you got dominated the game before and you didnt do things right, its still one game. You dont get two wins if you win by over 30 or over 40. You only get one game. Theyre back in their home building, where theyre very good and we have to be ready for it." AP Sports Writer Tim Reynolds contributed to this report. Vans Ireland Outlet . PETERSBURG, Fla. PITTSBURGH -- Josh Harrison extended his hitting streak to six games in impressive fashion, but it wasnt enough to get the Pittsburgh Pirates back on the winning track.Harrison, who had three hits, drove in Jordy Mercer with a single to left field in the eighth inning to score the Pirates lone run in their 3-1 loss to the Miami Marlins on Saturday night. He was the only Pittsburgh player that successfully solved David Phelps, who pitched six scoreless innings for the Marlins. Some pitchers arent as comfortable throwing to both sides, Harrison said. Some pitchers, you can predominately look in or look away. Hes a guy thats got a feel for all of his pitches. He can throw his cutter front-door. He can throw it away to righties. At the end of the day, he made pitches. Deception is one thing that pitchers try to work on as far as throwing off our timing.Pittsburgh has lost two straight after winning six of its previous seven.Xavier Scruggs hit his first major league home run to help Miami to its second straight win after a three-game skid.It felt great, Scruggs said. Thats the thing that was most important, was just being able to provide something for this team. You can get a hit at any time, but the big hits are the ones that really matter.Miguel Rojas scored on an error in the third, and Ichiro Suzuki doubled down the right-field line in the fourth -- for his 3,008th hit in the majors to move into 28th place on the career list -- ahead of Scruggs shot into the bleachers in left field.Phelps (7-6) allowed two hits and two walks with nine strikeouts while throwing 96 pitches in his fourth start of the season. He had not gone more than 5 1/3 innings or thrown more than 90 pitches in his previous three starts. To give us six there, and obviously the zeroes, hes been great, Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. Hes pitched great. Now hes to the point where hes saying he felt like he could have gone back out. Its just been anything weve asked him to do, hes been able to do.Fernando Rodney got the last three outs for his sixth save with the Marlins and 23rd of the season.Chad Kuhl (3-1) gave up three runs and five hits in six innings. He has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five of his past six starts.I think that (catcher Francisco Cervelli)) did a good job with getting me back to my fastbal, Kuhl said.ddddddddddddMy fastball wasnt there in the beginning. I threw a ton of off-speed pitches and when you throw off-speed, you really have to trust it. That really got my arm going. I was able to get back to my fastball and be efficient in later innings.Scruggs, who went 1 for 3 in his season debut with the Marlins on Friday, had not homered in 65 plate appearances with Miami and St. Louis spanning three seasons.Harrison opened the bottom of the first with a single before Phelps forced Starling Marte into a double play. Phelps faced the minimum until walking John Jaso with two out in the fifth, ending a streak of 13 straight batters retired.Phelps struck out five of six batters in the second and third innings, and retired the side in order in the fourth. He struck out Gregory Polanco and David Freese to start the fifth before walking Jaso.(Phelps) was just on top of his game, Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said. We werent able to push him back. Harrison had three hits and Mercer had one. Theyre hitting way too far apart so thats minor. Get a bunch of them and maybe something good happens. So, whether you like it or not, their pitcher was better than our offense tonight.Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen inadvertently helped give the Marlins their 1-0 lead in the third when Dee Gordons fly ball clanked out of McCutchens glove for an error that allowed Rojas to score from second base.TRAINERS ROOMPirates: Pittsburgh placed 3B Jung Ho Kang on the 15-day disabled list with a left shoulder injury sustained in Friday nights game. Urena has allowed a combined 13 earned runs over his past two starts.Pirates: Ryan Vogelsong (2-2, 3.20) will attempt to pick up a second consecutive win after allowing four earned runs in his last outing.
