BEIJING Dion Phaneuf Kings Jersey , May 22 (Xinhua) -- China is considering regulating bike-sharing services that are booming nationwide but causing a significant challenge to urban management.


The Ministry of Transport began to solicit pubic opinion Monday on draft rules requiring local governments to better manage bike-sharing and arrange orderly parking.


The draft states that parking zones should be established around major transportation hubs, shopping areas and office blocks and the parking of shared bikes should be supervised and orderly.


The draft also requires construction of cycleways and suggests the bike-sharing sector should use real-name registration.


In addition, the rules forbid children under the age of 12 from riding shared bikes and bans shared electric bikes.


The bike-sharing business took off in big Chinese cities less than two years ago. It allows riders to hire bikes for as little as one yuan (about 15 U.S. cents) per hour via a mobile app and drop them off anywhere for the next user.


The service has reduced traffic congestion and cut auto emissions, while haphazardly parked bikes often block sidewalks and lead to complaints.


There were 18.9 million users of shared bicycles nationwide in 2016. The number is expected to hit 50 million by the end of the year.

SYDNEY竊?March 2 (Xinhua) -- Female executives in Australia earn far less than their male counterparts竊?according to a study released on Thursday.


The study conducted by Curtin University shows that female bosses earn an average of 93竊?00 Australian dollars (71竊?00 U.S. dollars) less than men in similar roles竊?which translates to a 26.5 percent difference in their take home pay.


The figures also showed that while graduate entry jobs had a relatively small gap of 2.9 percent竊?that figure increased exponentially in higher paid graduate positions竊?with an 8 percent gap occurring in the highest 10 percent of graduate salary brackets.


However竊?women in some cases do earn more than men竊?with part-time women employees earning 7.8 percent more than males竊?but this gap is switched in the managerial ranks.


Alan Duncan竊?director of the Bankwest Curtin Economics Centre who authored the report竊?said the findings highlighted the need for more gender balance in the workforce.


""Gender segregation and lower pay in female-dominated organisations continue to drive poorer remuneration outcomes for women竊? Duncan said.


This gender imbalance竊?according to the report竊?results in the fact that workplaces with the fewest numbers of female executives have twice the wage gap between men and women竊?as organisations that have an equal share of women in senior roles.


Libby Lyons竊?director at the Workplace Gender Equality Agency竊?said more need to be done to change stereotypes about what kinds of work women and men ""should"" do竊?as the current methods aren't ""serving us well.""


""Currently竊?the concentration of women in particular industries is leading to poor gender equality outcomes竊? Lyons said.

The report was conducted by analysing reports issued by 12竊?00 companies during a period between April竊?2015 and March竊?2016竊?with 40 percent of the Australian workforce assessed.
