New Zealands chances in the Test series against India suffered a major blow with offspinner Mark Craig being ruled out of the remaining two matches. He will be replaced by Jeetan Patel, who last played for New Zealand in January 2013. Craig, who suffered a side strain, was New Zealands best spinner, and the most accurate, in the Kanpur Test even though that didnt show in his match figures of two wickets for 139 runs. Craig had made a comeback to the side in Kanpur after missing all four Tests on the recent tour of Africa. Were really disappointed for Mark, knowing the work hes put in to prepare for this series, New Zealand coach Mike Hesson said. He started well with the ball in the first innings, before developing the side strain.Patel, who averages 48.46 in Test cricket, was the leading wicket-taker in the 2016 English County Championship with 69 wickets for Warwickshire and was on Monday named the Most Valuable Player in the Professional Cricketers Association rankings for the season. Jeetan is up to speed from a bowling load perspective having recently completed a successful county season - so he will be ready for the rigours of Test cricket, Hesson said. Hell also add invaluable experience to our young spin group.Craig is expected to take four weeks to recover from his injury. This was the third injury blow for the tourists. Tim Southee was ruled out of the Test series with an ankle injury but could come back for the ODIs. Allrounder Jimmy Neesham missed the first Test after being struck on the rib in the nets in Delhi, but has been bowling in the nets in Kanpur.Kane Williamson, the New Zealand captain, admitted Patel had not been on the selectors radar before the start of the tour. He wasnt initially, he said. Obviously, having three frontline spinners over here, we didnt expect to need too many more spin options. In saying that, having played three in the first one, certainly we had to sit down and think about it, given the number of overs they may bowl and the possible chance of injury, which unfortunately has happened to Mark Craig. For Jeetan to come into the squad after a period of time away from the team is a great opportunity for him. The guys are all looking forward to having him and his experience in this side. Hes been a quality performer for a long period of time, and it is that like-for-like swap as well.It might not be unfair to say that Patel and New Zealand had almost given up on each other. Jeets loves the game of cricket and loves playing for his country, Williamson said. It [the recall] was perhaps unexpected. He has played a lot in England lately and almost considers himself a local in that part of the world, but we know hes not and we are looking forward to having him back in the side. There is a number of other players from Wellington in the side who have spent a lot of time with Jeets, and theyre all very excited about it. He is looking forward to coming back and making an impact. Kevin Bieksa Jersey . He just needed to be his best twisting, turning acrobatic self. "I didnt need to be anybody else, I just needed to be myself and be aggressive," said Burks, who scored a career-high 34 points to spark the Utah Jazz to a 118-103 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. Jakob Silfverberg Jersey . Michell Burger, a woman who lives on an estate next to Pistorius gated community, said she and her husband were awoken by the screams in the pre-dawn hours of Feb. 14 last year, when Pistorius killed Reeva Steenkamp by shooting four times through a door in his bathroom. http://www.cheapducksjerseyschina.com/corey-perry-jersey/ . The Lightning are 2-0 so far on a four-game road trip, giving the club five straight wins as the guest and improving Tampas away record this season to 11-8-2. Teemu Selanne Jersey . Miller finished in two minutes, 6.09 seconds, one day before the first medal race on the Alpine schedule. The 36-year-old American also turned in the top time in Thursdays opening training session. John Gibson Jersey . Most important, perhaps, it went off without a hitch. Organizers poked a little fun at the now-infamous opening ceremony gaffe that saw only four out of five snowflakes open up into rings, leaving the Olympics logo one ring short. India batsman KL Rahul has said the 2016 IPL season was the key moment for him to start believing in his abilities as a short-format batsman. Rahul scored 397 runs in 14 matches this season at a strike rate of 146.49 for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He also hit 16 sixes in the season to finish joint fifth on the list of most sixes. He had hit only five sixes in the previous IPL season.Rahul went on to earn a call up to the Indian ODI and T20 squads. He smashed a century in Zimbabwe on his ODI debut and produced a spectacular assault in Florida against West Indies that nearly took India to victory in pursuit of the highest successful T20I chase. He is now one of only three Indians, Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma being the other two, to have made an international century in all three formats of the game. This years IPL was the key moment for me to start believing in myself and my shorter format abilities, Rahul told ESPNcricinfo. Once people saw it, they started believing it too. I think it is very important when your own team-mates start believing that you have the game. I always knew I could play the shorter format but it was about putting a few performances there. A couple of good innings and I knew I will start believing a lot more in myself, so yes it worked out well for me this summer.Besides his spectacular form in the shorter formats, Rahul has also produced impressive performances in Test cricket. Replacing Murali Vijay, who injured his thumb, in the second Test of the recently-concluded series against West Indies, Rahul struck 158 in Indias first innings total of 500. It was his third Test century. He followed up the ton in Jamaica with a brisk half century in the Third Test in St. Lucia.Rahul is now expected to be Indias first-choice opener in the upcoming series against New Zealand, starting on September 22 in Kanpur. Rahul said the reason for his success has been in keeping things simple irrespective of the format. He also credited his Test and Royal Chhallengers captain Virat Kohli for being an inspiration both on and off the field.ddddddddddddWe feel lucky we dont have to look too far, the guy who inspires you is sitting right next to you in the dressing room, he said. The level of commitment that he (Kohli) has shown, the discipline and work ethics, the way he has been so disciplined with his fitness, nutrition and diet, that is something that has inspired all of us. If you come into the dressing room now you see how all the boys are so disciplined. Hes helped me in shaping my career. When I came into Test cricket, I was good but not as good as I am now. Virat has helped me with my preparation, mindset and he has given me a lot of confidence. It is really strange but there is no mental switch that I make. If you saw the innings in St. Lucia, I got a 50 in 56 balls (65) or something opening the innings when the ball was doing a little bit. I try to keep things very simple. I go into the field, try to assess the pitch and the situation, see what are the best shots I can play and what is the best approach to have on that day. While playing for Royal Challengers, Rahul was also given the task of keeping wickets. Having performed the role in junior cricket as well, Rahul said he will be ready if asked to keep for India.I know this (wicket-keeping) challenge can be thrown at me, thats why I have started working a lot harder on my fitness because keeping will demand different sort of fitness, he said. If I have to keep and bat, it will take a lot out of my body. So I have started to train harder and focus on eating right and whatever helps recover my body, I am trying to take care of that. It helps to have great support staff to look after you, they guide as well. I am sure the gloves will come on at some point. I will be ready and I will enjoy that too.Read KL Rahuls full interview here. ' ' '
