WASHINGTON -- Bryce Harper yelled at umpire Mike Winters and threw his helmet to the ground, leading to his ejection from the Washington Nationals 9-4 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Saturday.Harper erupted after a called third strike from Winters in the 10th inning. Harper insisted a 95 mph fastball from Jake McGee (1-3) was beyond the outside corner. It was off the plate, Harper said. I could possibly see one more pitch and maybe hit a homer or a double or walk -- I could even strike out. But I just wanted to see that last pitch, and I never got there. It just shouldnt happen. Just bad behind there. Its not a strike.Harper immediately turned and screamed at Winters, and the plate umpire calmly ejected him. Harper was replaced by Chris Heisey, and the Nationals lost in 11 innings after the Rockies scored five runs off Yusmeiro Petit (3-4).You dont ever want to get ejected, but you dont want an umpire to make a mistake in that big of a situation, Harper said. Thats just not good. I wanted to see that last pitch. We could have possibly not played the 11th or the 12th or whatever.Manager Dusty Baker said Harpers frustration mounted over time, and he wasnt just frustrated with Winters.Everybody blows up from time to time, Baker said. These things happen this time of year when tempers are short. Its hot, youve played a lot of games, youve been around the same people for a long period of time and this is the time of the year when tempers do flare up.Before Harper got tossed, the Nationals were on the wrong side of an intentional-walk wild pitch. Starter A.J. Cole threw the ball away while trying to walk Daniel Descalso in the fourth, which allowed Nolan Arenado to score.I havent seen an intentional walk go awry in a long time, Baker said. They were just going to say, `Take your base intentionally, but thats a reason you know for it not to.Cole allowed three runs on four hits in 5 2/3 innings. Recently acquired reliever Marc Rzepczynski allowed one run -- unearned because of his own throwing error -- in 2 1/3 innings, his longest outing since the 2011 NLCS.RAMOS SLUMPWith his RBI single in the fourth, Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos snapped a 1-for-23 slump. Ramos is the National Leagues best hitting catcher this season with a .312 average.OTTAVINO OVERRockies closer Adam Ottavinos streak of not allowing a run ended at 31 1/3 innings on Jayson Werths RBI single that tied the score in the ninth. Dating to Sept. 6, 2014, it was the longest active streak in the majors. Its disappointing, obviously, when he got the hit, but the games over if the next guy gets a hit, said Ottavino, who got Murphy to ground out to send the game to extra innings. Im happy I got that guy out so we were able to do what we did and win the game.TRAINERS ROOMRockies: Weiss said RHP Tyler Chatwood (mid-back strain) will go on a rehab assignment with details still to be determined.Nationals: RHP Joe Ross, who has been out since early July with shoulder inflammation, will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.UP NEXTRHP Chad Bettis (10-7, 5.29 ERA) starts for the second time in 12 days against the Nationals, who will call up RHP Lucas Giolito (0-0, 4.91) to make his fourth career major league start. Ferrari boss Maurizio Arrivabene insists he has a fantastic relationship with Sebastian Vettel and says he has no problem with the German showing his emotions in or out of the car.Arrivabene and Vettels relationship has come under scrutiny in the second half of Ferraris winless 2016 campaign. Following Vettels angry radio tirade at the Mexican Grand Prix and subsequent apology to race director Charlie Whiting and the FIA, the German has faced questions about whether he has grown frustrated with Ferraris failure to live up to lofty pre-season expectations this year.Arrivabene has categorically stated Vettel is not losing his patience with Ferrari and in fact welcomes the four-time world champion being upset with finishing so far off first position.I have zero problem with Sebastian, Arrivabene said. I mean, as I said many, many times, Sebastian is quite emotional. Sometimes he looks a bit more Latino than German. I think Christian [Horner] knows the matter like I do.Hes very emotional, hes very passionate, especially when hes driving and its in a racing battle. Its not a question of frustration. Sometimes he can be unhappy as we are unhappy because our expectations are different. But hes not a guy who is giving up; hes a guy that is pushing like hell.Sometimes when the adrenalin is going up to the sky, maybe hes choosing a word more than what is expected, butt then my role, like in Mexico, is also to call him and to invite him to be focused on what hes doing.ddddddddddddArrivabene says his relationship with Vettel is healthy and based on honesty and mutual respect.I spoke every day with Sebastian, and not only after the Mexican race. Somebody maybe thinks we have tension or things like this. No, we are honest with each other. The word honesty must sometimes be put in the script or in the article, because we have an honest, open, straightforward relationship and if you are asking me, we are always in agreement, like all human beings, sometimes yes, sometimes no.We have a fantastic relationship and its based on an honest, day after day feedback. I respect him as a driver, he was four times world champion. Hes putting all of himself into the job that hes doing. A couple of months ago, I said sometimes even too much but it was not a criticism. I want to make it clear, once and forever. Its because hes putting all of himself - he tries to put all of himself into everything hes doing and sometimes you just have to say, like in Mexico, hey Seb, calm down, head down, look in front of you and push. And theres nothing wrong with that so you ask me, you can ask him and you have the same version. Cheap JerseysChina NFL Jerseys [url=htto everything hes doing and sometimes you jys[/url] ' ' '
