BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns murky quarterback situation may be clearing.Josh McCown is on track to return and start Sundays game against the Jets. Coach Hue Jackson said that McCown has been medically cleared from his broken left collarbone to play. The veteran was a full participant in practice, but Jackson said he wont name McCown the starter until he goes through the full week of practice.Definitely been medically cleared, Jackson said. Well see how it goes the rest of the week and go from there. If McCown starts, it increases the Browns chances to win their first game. Cody Kessler is in the NFL concussion protocol and the only other two quarterbacks are recently activated or signed rookies Kevin Hogan and Joe Callahan.McCowns full practice was his first since he broke his collarbone in a loss to Baltimore on Sept. 18. He has been doing limited work in practice the previous two weeks, but was cleared to play this week.Obviously the doctors and everybody wouldnt allow me to be out there if we werent going in the right direction, McCown said.Jackson has been through several midweek injuries this season, so he said he wanted to wait to see how he turns out.Things change, as you guys know, during the week, Jackson said.McCown faced the Jets a year ago in the season opener, and guided the Browns on a 90-yard drive. But on third down he tried to run for a touchdown and was helicoptered in the air. The result: A concussion and a fumble recovered by the Jets in the end zone.In his only start this season, McCown scored three first-half touchdowns and had the Browns ahead 20-0. He played with the injury and the Ravens came back to win 25-20.What he did way back then was a long time ago, Jackson said. Thats why I keep saying we got to work in practice and see where we are. Hes a veteran player who knows how to play, knows our system. Hopefully if hes out there it means hes the best guy standing right now.Jets receiver Brandon Marshall was a teammate of McCowns in 2013 when McCown had one of his better seasons as Jay Cutlers backup in Chicago.Josh is back? Marshall said on a conference call. Thats my guy, man. [Hes] just an awesome man. Awesome quarterback. Hes the example what you want your kid to be.In other injury news, receiver Terrelle Pryor?[hamstring] and cornerback Joe Haden?[groin] again were limited.Jerry West Jersey . Magic Johnson Lakers Jersey . Now, correct me if Im wrong but I saw one official distinctly pointing at the net indicating a good goal but after an inconclusive review they overturned the goal. Shouldnt the ruling on the ice (good goal) stand after an inconclusive review? Why was this overturned? James Veaudry Pembroke, ON -- Hey Kerry, Youll get a lot of these, but why was the Montreal goal against Nashville Saturday night overturned? Eller puts the puck on net and the on ice ruling from the ref behind the net is a Montreal goal.Matt Tifft has returned to racing 11 weeks after having brain surgery, and he said he felt great heading into Friday nights Camping World Truck Series race. The 20-year-old had surgery July 1 to remove a tumor that was about the size of a half-dollar and was located on the right side near his temple, about an inch into his brain at the deepest point. It was not cancerous but had the potential to grow aggressively.Tifft, who received applause when he was introduced in the pre-race driver meeting, finished 12th.After the surgery, I think the reason I was able to make such a quick return was just the support I had from family and friends and just the motivation to get back to racing, Tifft said Friday, a day after his return to the track for practice. Its one of my favorite things to do and I love racing.I think for having that ability to go out and say, All right, I want to get back in the truck, I [had] the motivation to do that. That really helped along with the recovery process because the days that were hard I could say to myself, OKK, next week youll feel a little bit better, a little bit better.ddddddddddddSomeday youll be back. And, that day was yesterday.Tifft has three starts in the Red Horse truck this year with a best finish of fifth. He also has competed in six Xfinity Series events for Joe Gibbs Racing and has recorded two eighth-place finishes. To get prepared to race and make sure he was OK to compete, Tifft has twice tested a late-model stock car at a North Carolina track in the past few weeks. NASCAR has cleared him to compete.Tifft said he has suffered no ill effects from the brain surgery after his two late-model tests.Every time I got in the car, it was like everything had been way before, Tifft said. [I] did a lot of go-karting as well in between and before the late-model test. I didnt feel anything at all that was different, and I would not be here this weekend if I did not feel like I was 100 percent and ready to go. ' ' '
