There’s a chance that Hurney signed Paradis to a deal that’s easy to get out of after the first year if he can’t stay healthy. We just don’t know yet, and until we know there’s no reason to strongly react one way or the other.However, there’s no denying that when he’s healthy Paradis is one of the top centers in the league, and that’s something the Panthers absolutely needed after Ryan Kalil retired.
