Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere will be among the England players who will attend a meeting with boss Roy Hodgson at St Georges Park on Thursday. Welbeck and Wilshere have not played for England for 11 and eight months respectively due to serious injury but the Arsenal duo featured during the qualification campaign for Euro 2016. That means they will be among the 40 or so players who will be at the meeting, which is expected to take place in the evening, after the Premier League clubs have held training.Nick Collins of Sky Sports News HQ reported: It is a big victory for Roy Hodgson and the coaching staff really, because they have tried to get this England get-together to happen before and the Premier League clubs did not want to know on that occasion. England candidate Danny Drinkwater will not be at the get-together There is a will this time, with the European Championships coming up in the summer. We are expecting about 40 players to be there and they are basically all the ones that were involved in some way in the qualifiers, not necessarily playing but in the squads that were picked. There wont be any sign of [in-form Leicester midfielder] Danny Drinkwater because he was not involved. There was a suggestion that he might be among the players invited but my information is that he wont be.But it does mean the likes of Jack Wilshere, Daniel Strurridge and Danny Welbeck, who played a part in the qualifiers earlier on, will be in attendance. They are looking to have a pretty detailed analysis and debrief of the two November internationals [against Spain and France].They will also be starting the preparations for the games against Germany in Berlin (26 March) and Holland at Wembley (29 March) a few days later, and then the sights will be trained on the European Championships themselves. This is just a sit-down meet-up, so Premier League managers can breathe a sigh of relief. No one is going to come back injured from this! Roy Hodgson will be pleased he has managed to arrange the get-together The FA have made it clear that players who do not attend the meeting have not been ruled out of consideration for Euro 2016 selection.A smaller squad of around 23 will convene in March for the friendlies against Germany and Holland.
