SALSOMAGGIORE TERME, Italy -- French rider Nacer Bouhanni timed another sprint to perfection to win his third stage in this years Giro dItalia, and Cadel Evans overall lead remained unchanged after Tuesdays 10th leg. Bouhanni clocked just over 4 hours on the mostly flat 173-kilometre (108-mile) route from Modena to Salsomaggiore Terme. Italian rider Giacomo Nizzolo finished second for his fourth podium finish of this years race and Michael Matthews of Australia was third, both with the same time as Bouhanni. It was the eighth win this year and the 28th career victory for Bouhanni, who rides for the FDJ.fr team. "The speed was very high at the end. I took Nizzolos wheel and was able to pass him," Bouhanni said of his burst to the line. "My goal is the points jersey." With Mark Cavendish skipping the Giro and with Marcel Kitttle having withdrawn after winning the first two individual stages, Bouhanni doesnt have many rivals in the sprints capable of beating him. "Cavendish is Cavendish and Im Bouhanni," the stage winner said when asked who was faster, adding that he stays fit in the off-season by boxing. A crash in the final kilometre involved American sprinter Tyler Farrar. Belgian rider Yannick Eijssen, a teammate of Evans with BMC, was involved in a fall with about 20 kilometres (12 miles) to go and was put on a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance with a brace around his neck. Evans remained 57 seconds ahead of Colombian rival Rigoberto Uran in the overall standings. Stage 11 Wednesday is a 249-kilometre (155-mile) leg from Collecchio to Savona with two minor climbs, including one shortly before the finish. This years combines will held in Edmonton on March 17, Montreal on March 19, and Toronto on March 20. The national CFL combine is set for March 21-23 in Toronto. "The league introduced the regional combines last season in order to provide more players opportunities to work out in front of scouts and coaches," said Kevin McDonald, the CFLs vice-president of football operations. "And the results and feedback were very positive." The CFL also announced it has adjusted the invitation process. The top 40 players eligible for the CFL draft on May 13, as ranked by the teams and league office, are invited to attend the national combine. The league, with input from all teams, will then invite additional players from the regional combines based on performance. Theres no minimum or maximum number of players required tto be invited to the national combine, but the expectation is that six to 12 players will be extended an invitation.dddddddddddd "This year we have initially invited fewer players to the national combine to provide us with more flexibility to invite players who perform well at the regional combines," McDonald said. "Last years regional combines added three excellent players to the national combine roster, and they all went on to be selected in the first four rounds of the CFL Draft." Those players were Concordia defensive back Kristopher Robertson, who was selected in the second round (11th overall) by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers; Jermaine Gabriel, a defensive back from the CJFLs Calgary Colts, who went in the second round (17th overall) to the Toronto Argonauts; and Michael Klassen, a defensive lineman from the University of Calgary, who was taken in the fourth round (32nd overall) by the Montreal Alouettes.
