Anthony Joshua is inspiring Great Britains Olympic boxing team to believe they can strike gold in Rio this month.Four years ago, Joshua won Olympic super-heavyweight gold and since then has turned professional and won a version of the world heavyweight title.Joshua, 26, still trains at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield where Britains Olympic boxing team have been based. He made his first defence of his IBF title with a seventh round win over American Dominic Breazeale last June, having originally won the belt in April. And despite his success at the highest level, he remains friends with the GBs team of 12 boxers. It is the first time in recent Olympic history that Great Britain has qualified a man in all 10 weight classes, and Team GB will be taking its biggest boxing team since the 1984 Games in Los Angeles.Joshuas a huge inspiration for our boxers, and it shows what can be done, performance director Rob McCracken said. [Lawrence] Okolie in particular, looked to big Josh.He won gold at London 2012 as a novice and Lawrence has only had a few more than 20 fights and only been with us six months or so.Lawrence believes he can do it and that confidence is a big boost when you travel to go away to tournaments, like the qualifiers or the Olympics.Okolie, 23, only took up boxing to deal with some personal problems and is in the second year of a psychosocial studies degree at the University of East London. When I saw Anthony Joshua win Olympic gold I thought this is possible, he said. I was constantly picked on, called fat, sometimes it was physical. It made me shy and reserved.I was stuck at home, I wouldnt go out and my only comfort was food. I took up boxing as a way of losing weight and qualified for the Olympics after just 23 bouts.Im still a bit inexperienced but Im going out there not just for the experience, but for the gold medal.McCracken trained Nottinghams Carl Froch, who was a three-time world super-middleweight champion, and says Joshua has what it takes to rule for years. It has probably surprised most people how quickly he has won the world title but I knew the quality, the mindset, the determination, the focus, the power, the athleticism he had and if you put that all together its a winning formula, McCracken added. It will take someone to stop him and he does the job quickly. Hes everything you want in a professional fighter. McKnight was pulled over in Hanover Township last Tuesday morning, an off day for players from camp at SUNY Cortland, for changing lanes without signalling, according to Police Chief Steve Gallagher. After stopping McKnight, police discovered the two outstanding warrants: one for failure to produce an insurance card in Summit, N.J., while the other was for failure to observe a traffic signal in Springfield. McKnight was then arrested and later posted $320 bail -- the amount of the warrants -- and released with summons for unsafe lane change and having an uninsured vehicle. The Jets declined comment on the arrest, first reported by The New York Post. McKnight has been back with the Jets since the incident, but hasnt practiced since last Friday after experiencing concussion-like symptoms following a hit during a play. He has alsoo been dealing with cramping issues throughout camp.dddddddddddd McKnight was the teams fourth-round draft pick out of Southern California in 2010, and has been the Jets primary kick returner the last two seasons. He has returned two kickoffs for touchdowns, including a franchise-record 107-yarder in 2011 against Baltimore that also stands as the teams longest play. McKnight, 25, is the latest Jets running back to deal with legal issues. Mike Goodson was arrested on drug and weapons possession charges in May along with a friend in New Jersey. The case was sent to a grand jury in June, and Goodson has pleaded not guilty. Goodson is on the reserve-did not report list, and it is uncertain when or if he will rejoin the team. The Jets have said they are aware of where Goodson is, and why, and general manager John Idzik has said that the team is approaching the situation "day by day." Goodsons absence from camp is not believed to be related to his legal situation. ' ' '
