OXFORD, Miss. -- Mississippi defensive coordinator Dave Wommack will retire at the end of the season.The school announced Wommacks retirement about an hour before Saturdays Egg Bowl against rival Mississippi State. Wommack, 60, has been the Rebels defensive coordinator the past five seasons, which spans coach Hugh Freezes entire tenure.Ole Miss had one of the nations best defenses in 2014, but the unit has slowly gone downhill over the past two seasons.
