Week 16 is championship week for the majority of fantasy football leagues. That means a change in roster strategy if your team is headed to your leagues equivalent of the Super Bowl.Any player you wont be starting should be dropped and you should scour the waiver wire for anyone your opponent might consider picking up to replace one or more starters. This will block any attempt by your opponent to add a player to fill an empty slot. When it gets down to winner take all, stop at nothing within the rules to gain an edge.Heres a look at the waiver options for Week 16.JAMEIS WINSTON (QB, Buccaneers)Fantasy owners ran away from Winston because of poor matchups recently, but the Week 16 matchup with the Saints could be a good one. The Saints offense at home can be quite productive and the Buccaneers need a win to stay in the playoff hunt. Those two factors combined mean that Winston will need to get it done through the air to win what will likely be a high-scoring shootout. Dont get cute and sit a stud for Winston but definitely consider deploying him in two-QB and deeper leagues with minimal options.TOM SAVAGE (QB, Texans)Savage opened some eyes when he stepped in and sparked the Texans offense, completing 23 of 36 passes for 260 yards without a TD or interception. The Titans play the Jaguars, whose pass defense allows an average of just 14.1 fantasy points to quarterbacks. While some may be tempted based on this weeks production, it isnt a good idea to use a green rookie in his first start in the NFL.TY MONTGOMERY (RB, Packers)The Packers finally resigned themselves to using Montgomery on a full-time basis at running back and it paid off handsomely in Week 15. Montgomery wont rack up 162 yards with two TDs against the Vikings but he should be good enough for solid RB2 production against a defense that has quit on the coach.KENNETH DIXON (RB, Ravens)Dixon was only given 15 snaps in Week 15 and the Ravens annoying use of the hot hand approach at running back is difficult to predict. The Steelers have one of the better rushing defenses in the league but theyve still allowed 13 rushing touchdowns and will have a tough time containing Dixon on pass plays out of the backfield. Dont hesitate to use Dixon in a flex spot for Week 16.ROBBY ANDERSON (WR, Jets)Anderson only received half as many targets as usual from quarterback Bryce Petty in Week 15 but still led the team in reception yards, and he scored the only touchdown. Andersons value is tied directly to Petty, who sustained an injury that is not expected to sideline him for Saturdays matchup with the Patriots. If the Jets go back to Ryan Fitzpatrick, which is unexpected at this point, then Andersons fantasy value drops. If Petty plays, Anderson will be a decent WR4 or flex play as long as you dont expect a touchdown. The Patriots bend dont break defense will likely keep the Jets out of the end zone barring a bad mistake in the secondary.TAYLOR GABRIEL (WR, Falcons)Even if Julio Jones returns to the field for Week 16, Gabriel has more than proven his value to the Falcons and fantasy owners. The same cannot be said for Aldrick Robinson, whose value is diminished if Jones plays. The matchup with the Panthers, who allow an average of 23.1 fantasy points to wide receivers, is favorable for the Falcons receivers. A decision about Jones will depend on his ability to practice, especially Wednesday. So, keep an eye out for the practice reports later in the week but dont hesitate to use Gabriel regardless.DONTRELLE INMAN (WR, Chargers)Inman continues to receive a steady diet of targets from Philip Rivers and produce serviceable yardage totals. Week 15 was his first game without a TD since Week 10 but dont let that discourage you, especially since the Bolts are matched up against the NFL doormat Cleveland Browns.MALCOLM MITCHELL (WR, Patriots)Mitchell was quiet against the Broncos but that was expected. The Patriots play the Jets in Week 16, though, and they can be beaten through the air. Only three teams have allowed more TD receptions than the Jets 27. Mitchell will be targeted often and should find the end zone. Chris Hogan is also a good recommendation, as hell get a few chances to catch a long bomb for a TD.JESSE JAMES (TE, Steelers)Surprise, surprise -- Ladarius Green is in the NFL concussion protocol. Green has a long history of concussions, which makes this latest one all the more concerning. There is a good chance he will not return this season. The loss of Green makes Jesse James the primary tight end again, and hes been productive when given the opportunity to contribute. Grab him if he was dropped due to Greens recent rise on the depth chart.---This column was provided to The Associated Press by the Fantasy Sports Network, http://FNTSY.comMatt Carpenter Jersey . Miller reached right to deflect Mikhail Grabovskis attempt with just over 2 minutes remaining in regulation, and then made two more saves in the shootout Sunday to give the Sabres a 2-1 win over the Washington Capitals. Tony Cingrani Jersey . -- There were so many positives from the Orlando Magics first victory of the season that it was hard for coach Jacque Vaughn to stop praising his players. https://www.cheapcardinalsonline.com/804t-ryan-helsley-jersey-cardinals.html . The home side created most of the chances but struggled to break down Braunschweigs resilient defence, resulting in the Bundesligas 1,000th scoreless draw. Lou Brock Cardinals Jersey . One game after a miserable showing in Oklahoma City, Gay tied a career high with 41 points and the Sacramento Kings cruised to a 114-97 victory at the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night. Austin Gomber Cardinals Jersey . -- Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated, a day after he was suspended for an NFL substance-abuse policy violation. Dak Prescott is 11-2 as a starting quarterback. Hes thrown for 20 touchdowns with only four interceptions and his team has the best record in the NFC and is tied with the New England Patriots for the NFLs top mark. The season has gone better than anyones wildest expectations. So, should Prescott be looking over his shoulder?Such is life with the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys didnt invent quarterback controversies, but the argument could be that the franchise perfected the art of pitting signal-callers against each other in the press and among the fandom. To be fair, the Cowboys arent publicly talking about benching Prescott in favor of veteran and longtime starter Tony Romo. Such chatter also doesnt appear to be taking place behind the scenes.Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett reiterated as much going into Sunday nights game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tex.You can make it as simple or as complex as you want to make it, Garrett told reporters at his weekly press conference. Its pretty simple for us: Daks going to play quarterback as we go forward.Prescott is coming off a series of subpar performances, at least by his standards, culminating in Sundays 10-7 loss at the New York Giants. Dallas offense has sputtered, and Prescott is finally playing like a rookie. The fourth-round pick from Mississippi State completed just 17 of 37 passes for 165 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions against the Giants. It was the first time this season hes thrown multiple picks in the same game.Prescott has failed to reach 200 yards passing in each of his last three games. The Cowboys have been successful on just 2 of 24 third-down conversions in the last two contests. Dallas has scored just 24 points in those two games.Still, Garrett appears to have no interest in turning to Romo. Were just focused on Dak playing quarterback for us, Garrett said. And well continue to do that in our preparation this week and as we go forward.Hes done a really good job for us up to this point, won 11 of 13 games that hes started, and hes handled really every situation as well as you can handle it, so well just continue that way. Tony will be in a backup role for us and hell be ready to go if hes called upon to play.Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones has helped stoke the controversy fires with comments in recent weeks suggesting that Romo will play a siggnificant role before the season ends.ddddddddddddJones admitted on his radio show this week that Romo getting into a game is a possibility due to injury or poor play by Prescott.I understand the question, but I dont want to get into the scenario, Jones said. It goes too far into talking about what we dont want to talk about. But given the need for (Romo), we want him ready on the spur of the moment. The Cowboys have a playoff spot secured and their magic number to clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC is two with three games to play. The Buccaneers (8-5) are tied with Atlanta atop the NFC South and are riding a five-game winning streak.Tampa Bays longest unbeaten run since 2002 is turning heads, but the Bucs arent getting caught up in the hype.Thats for the media and you guys to say, defensive end Robert Ayers told reporters this week. All I know is that were 8-5 right now, were trying to get to 9-5. Were taking it one game at a time and were trying to keep hunting. We let you guys give labels and stuff like that, but I know were hungry. As head coach Dirk Koetter said, Were an 8-5 football team, but weve got bigger goals than that.In addition to the division race, the Buccaneers control their postseason destiny by sitting in the second wild-card slot in the NFC. The playoffs are in view. Its in my mind, but going 1-0 (each week) is very important to us as a team, quarterback Jameis Winston said. Were not really trying to look forward. (Offensive coordinator Todd Monken) says all the time, Be where your feet are. Weve got to keep winning. As long as we keep getting Ws, the playoffs are going to be in there.Defense has carried Tampa Bay during its streak. The Bucs have given up a league-low 12.8 points per game since Week 10. The six total touchdowns scored by opponents are tied for the fewest during that span. The offense has struggled some under Winston, scoring just six touchdowns in the last four games. The reasons for the sputtering attack are varied.Sometimes it might be the play call, it might be execution, it might be a penalty, a combination of all those things, Koetter said. I know how these guys can play on offense and I know when we get there.Dallas leads the series 13-4 against Tampa Bay, but the Bucs won 10-6 last season. ' ' '
