With just hours until the transfer window closes, Premier League clubs are stepping up their efforts to bring in new players before the deadline. So who needs what? And who are the likely targets?Heres our club-by-club guide… Arsenal Arsenal signed Mohamed Elneny earlier in this window Arsenal have bolstered their squad with the addition of Egypt international Mohamed Elneny, with Arsene Wenger praising the midfielder following his debut in the FA Cup win over Burnley on Saturday. There have been plenty of rumours suggesting more new faces could be on the way, but the Gunners may well leave any more business until the summer, especially with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Francis Coquelin and Tomas Rosicky recently returning from injury.Aston Villa Aston Villa boss Remi Garde has spoken of his admiration for Loic Remy Bottom club Aston Villa have had their work cut out attracting players this window and chairman Steve Hollis told Sky Sports they are unlikely to spend heavily. A loan move or two could therefore be their best bet. Villa have scored the fewest goals in the Premier League, so a goalscorer is likely to feature highly on their wish list, and Remi Garde has made no secret of his interest in Chelseas Loic Remy.In defence, a temporary switch for Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy is a possibility. The French international has fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium and admits he has already been in touch with Garde. Villa could also recruit a goalkeeper, though Garde has downplayed talk of a move for Hajduk Split shot-stopper Lovre Kalinic.Bournemouth Curtis Davies (L) is out of contract this summer The Cherries have been one of the busiest clubs in the window, sealing the big-money signings of Benik Afobe from Wolves and Lewis Grabban from Norwich while also securing a loan deal for Juan Iturbe from Roma as they look to extend their stay in the Premier League.Having bolstered their attack, attention could now turn to a defence which has conceded 38 goals in 23 Premier League games. The Daily Mail have linked them with Wolves captain Danny Batth, and last month the Daily Mirror suggested they could target Hulls Curtis Davies, who is out of contract in the summer.Chelsea Alexandre Pato has joined Chelsea on loan Struggling Chelsea are hoping that strengthening their strikeforce will help them climb up the table. The Blues have been linked with a host of names in recent weeks and snared Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato a few days ago. How will Pato fit in? Sky Sports profiles Chelsea striker Alexandre Pato Paris St Germain duo Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani have also been mentioned, with both players facing uncertain futures in the French capital, and Sky sources say the Blues are one of several clubs monitoring West Broms Saido Berahino.Crystal Palace Emmanuel Adebayor has joined Crystal Palace Crystal Palace are another side in need of a striker. One player persistently linked with the Toffees is Andriy Yarmolenko, but Dynamo Kiev are reportedly reluctant to sell the winger.Newspaper reports have suggested Everton are also monitoring a number of Championship players, including Boltons Zach Clough and Derby Countys Will Hughes. A total of 34 goals conceded raises questions of their defence, but Roberto Martinez will be hoping Phil Jagielka can help steady the ship following his return from injury.Leicester Claudio Ranieri is looking to improve Leicesters strikeforce The Foxes have already completed the signing of highly-rated winger Demarai Gray from Birmingham City, as well as centre-back Daniel Amartey from Copenhagen, and Claudio Ranieri has previously said he is very confident of bringing in a striker to provide support for Jamie Vardy as they look to sustain their remarkable Premier league title challenge.Earlier this month the Daily Mirror reported Leicester were interested in Porto frontman Vincent Aboubakar.Liverpool Liverpool are still hoping to sign Alex Teixeira Liverpool have already confirmed deals for Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic and QPR centre-back Steven Caulker this month, but theyre not finished yet, with Jurgen Klopp eager to bring in an attacker to ease their injury crisis up front and end their struggles in front of goal. The No 1 target appears to be Shakhtar Donetsks Alex Teixeira but the move has stalled after the clubs were unable to reach agreement over a fee. Could it yet be revived? Manchester City Do Manchester City need to sign cover for injury-prone Sergio Aguero? Manuel Pellegrini insists Manchester City have no plans to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window, despite their patchy form and injury concerns over strikers Sergio Aguero and Wilfried Bony.City spent heavily in the summer on the likes of Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne, and with a change of manager a rumoured possibility at the end of the season, they may choose to hold off on any more spending until then.Manchester United Could this be a quiet window for Manchester United and Louis van Gaal? Manchester United have come in for heavy criticism for their playing style under Louis van Gaal this season, but, like their rivals City, they are likely to wait until the summer before making major changes to their squad. Players letting LVG down? Southampton Portos Giannelli Imbula has been linked with several Premier League teams Southampton will be hoping for a strong finish to the season after an inconsistent start. The £4m arrival of Charlie Austin from QPR has provided extra firepower in attack, and they have also rejected interest in Shane Long and Sadio Mane.Ronald Koeman has been coy on the subject of new additions in recent weeks, although reports from France suggest they are interested in Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula.Stoke Could Shane Long swap the red and white stripes of Southampton for the red and white stripes of Stoke? Stoke sit in ninth place and just nine points off the Champions League places, but they have been inactive in the transfer window so far. That could change before the deadline, however, with Sky sources saying they are interested in rivalling Southampton for the signature of Giannelli Imbula.Hughes has refused to be drawn on links with Imbula, Shane Long and Saido Berahino, but he has rejected reports that they are interested in Burnleys Michael Keane.Sunderland Swansea forward Andre Ayew is likely to command a high fee Sunderland have already brought in five players this window: Jan Kirchhoff from Bayern Munich, Dame NDoye from Trabzonspor, Lamine Kone from Lorient, Wahbi Khazri from Bordeaux and goalkeeper Steve Harper, but Sam Allardyce is eager for more new signings as they battle against the threat of relegation.Specifically, Allardyce wants another defender and another attacking player. The Black Cats have been strongly linked with Swanseas Andre Ayew, but Allardyce has insisted no offer has been made for the forward.Swansea Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen has been linked with a return to Swansea The only new arrival at Swansea this month has been in the dugout, with Francesco Guidolin named as their new head coach. Will the Italian seek to strengthen his squad before Mondays deadline? The departure of Jonjo Shelvey to Newcastle has left them with cash to play with, and Alan Curtis has admitted they are interested in bringing Liverpools Joe Allen back to the club. Espanyols Felipe Caicedo is a name in the mix.Tottenham Saido Berahino handed in a transfer request in the summer Could Tottenham be tempted into some late activity? Mauricio Pochettino tends to keep his cards close to his chest with transfers, although he did recently admit that he would love to see Gareth Bale back at White Hart Lane in the future.Even the most optimistic Spurs fan would concede that the Welshman is unlikely to return any time soon, but Spurs have been linked with some more realistic targets, too. Sky sources say Saido Berahino remains a target but young Fulham striker Moussa Dembeles move appears to have broken down.Watford Liverpools Jerome Sinclair (centre) is out of contract in the summer After a hectic summer transfer window, Quique Flores Watford have re-entered the market this month, with winger Nordin Amrabat arriving from Malaga, goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon joining the club from Sunderland and midfielder Mario Suarez coming in from Fiorentina.Sky sources revealed Watford enquired about Tottenhams Andros Townsend before his move to Tyneside and the Hornets have reportedly tried to sign Liverpool youngster Jerome Sinclair, whose contract at Anfield is due to expire in the summer.West Brom QPRs Matt Phillips has impressed in the Championship The only major storyline at The Hawthorns this month concerns the future of Saido Berahino, with Tony Pulis admitting that transfer saga could go down to the final day.As for incomings, Sandro has arrived on loan from West Brom, but other speculation has been relatively scarce. West Brom have created the fewest scoring chances in the Premier League this season, though, so some attacking spark would not go amiss. Pulis admires QPR winger Matt Phillips, and there has also been talk of a move for Besiktas winger Kerim Frei.West Ham Galatasarays Burak Yilmaz (R) is attracting interest from West Ham The Hammers kicked off their January spending with the signing of Sam Byram from Leeds United last week, and Emmanuel Emenike has also arrived on loan from Fenerbahce.
